1. Ergonomic Considerations

Taxi drivers spend between 8-12 hours a day behind the wheels of their taxis. Therefore, fatigue level is a major consideration when purchasing new taxis.

TX1 has a new advance purpose-designed seat with improved pedal position to reduce drivers fatigue. The driver will also experience a higher level of comfort as the TX1 is more spacious and all instruments and controls are clear and within easy reach.

2. Safety Considerations

Safety is a very important consideration when purchasing a vehicle. The driver as well as the passengers must be assured of the highest level of safety.

The TX1 has an all-new steel body with excellent impact absorbing characteristics. In the event of an unfortunate accident, the driver and the passengers will be at a lower risk of bodily injuries. The tinted windscreen is 48% wider than before for better visibility and laminated for added safety.

The safety features extend to the interior of the taxi as well. There is a rear door opening warning reflector, night time switch illuminations as well as fitted fire extinguisher.

3. Security Considerations

Besides safety, security is also a very important aspect in the selection of taxis. The TX1 has a central locking system and the driver has the facility to lock all doors simultaneously. The passengers will not be able to open the taxi door until the driver stopped the engine and the brake pedal is released.

All available space in the TX1 has been utilised to its fullest potential. Effectively, the TX1 can seat 5 adult passengers comfortably. The seat beside the driver can be used for either passenger or be folded to allow for extra luggage.

The TX1 also has an integral built-in child seat that will keep a passengers child in a safe position throughout the journey.

5. Wheelchair Considerations

TIBS Taxis has a pool of wheelchair-bound customers and the TX1 has an exclusive transfer facility that allows the entire wheelchair to be pushed into the London Taxi directly via a special built-in ramp. This is made possible as the door of the TX1 London Taxi can be opened to a full 90 degrees. This provides an added convenience for our wheelchair-bound customers who would not need to get up from the wheelchair to board the taxi.

For the busy business executives, there is a powerpoint available for them to work on their laptops during the journey.

For private business discussions during the journey or simply for more privacy, passengers have the option to activate the glass panel separating the driver and the passengers.
